After months of meetings, research, diligence and onboarding, S2G is excited to announce the first investments from our Oceans and Seafood Fund. From nanobubbles, RNA therapeutics and AI-based precision agriculture tools for aquaculture, our new portfolio companies are developing cutting edge innovations that have the potential to reimagine the seafood industry and build healthy oceans and water ecosystems. Our growing Oceans and Seafood portfolio now spans five companies across four countries and supports leading entrepreneurs in the blue economy across the globe.

ReelData
“Aquaculture is already the most carbon-efficient source of animal protein. Creating sustainable technology that helps these farms scale will have a multiplication factor on food sustainability and that's a beautiful thing.”
- Matt Zimola, CEO and Co-Founder of ReelData
ReelData is a data-driven computer vision and artificial intelligence platform bringing precision farming to land-based aquaculture. We believe ReelData can play a critical role shifting land-based aquaculture from a borderline viable business to becoming the most profitable, consistent, and sustainable way to produce the world’s seafood.

ViAqua
“Reducing the exploitation of natural fishery resources has never been more urgent. Aquaculture is a key alternative to the wild-catch industry. Now, more than ever, specific, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective solutions for viral epidemics are in demand. Our mission is to build a healthier and more sustainable food system by delivering the power and precision of RNA therapeutics to aquaculture.”
- Shai Ufaz, CEO ViAqua
ViAqua is a biotechnology producer of an orally administered particle-based platform for the delivery of RNA and protein to improve resistance against diseases. Their first therapeutic utilizes a proprietary double-strand RNA (dsRNA) particle encapsulation that triggers the anti-viral RNAi in shrimp cells to fight and suppress white spot syndrome. We believe the ViAqua team has the potential to apply its technology across all aquaculture species and platforms where cost-effective RNA production and novel delivery systems (such as nano and micro encapsulation) are needed.

Moleaer
“Global temperatures are rising, resulting in the deterioration of water quality and increased food scarcity. Innovative solutions are needed to improve water quality and increase food production in a sustainable way if we’re to address these major challenges. Our nanobubble technology solves these global issues by providing sustainable and chemical-free treatment to water bodies, restoring the health of aquatic ecosystems, and increasing the output and yields of agricultural and aquaculture crop production.”
- Nicholas Dyner, CEO of Moleaer
Moleaer develops industrial-scale nanobubble production technology that delivers extraordinary improvements in chemical-free water treatment, sustainable food production, and the recovery of natural resources. Its patented technology sustainably increases productivity across industries, most notably improving irrigation water quality and increasing crop yields, restoring water bodies by eliminating harmful algae and pathogens, improving fish health and production, and increasing recoveries of natural resources.
Oceans and seafood is a natural extension of our work in food and agriculture and a critical step towards building a more humane and healthy planet. It’s a big vision, and we know we can’t do it alone. We look forward to engaging with entrepreneurs, co-investors and strategic partners who are interested in affecting real change. We hope you will join us.
