Mike Gilkes is a Vice President on the Oceans team at S2G Ventures. In his role, Mike focuses on the origination, evaluation and execution of investments across the blue economy, along with portfolio company support and development.

Mike has over 12 years of deal-focused experience in venture capital and investment banking. Before joining S2G Ventures, Mike was a Managing Director at Cleveland Avenue, a Chicago-based venture capital firm that invests in companies that positively disrupt large and growing markets, where he focused on the execution of investments in food, agriculture and consumer-related technologies. Prior to Cleveland Avenue, Mike was a Director in Baird’s Global Consumer Investment Banking Group, where he provided sell- and buy-side M&A advisory for publicly held, private equity backed and family owned companies in the food & beverage and consumer products sectors.

Mike graduated from the College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Finance.
